The journey Jean embarks on, is in a way every free soul's journey - the quest to know ourselves, to explore the dark side or rather the hidden self, to set oneself free. She looks at Sydney and says "I see myself in you" - someone who is ready to take risks although she lives a life of chaos, being uncertain about herself, still loving those uncertain self so deeply.

Jean lives literally on a pile of lies; but at some point we wonder, what's lie and what's the truth. Is she actually deceiving others or herself?

Sydney on the other hand gives away too much with her eyes, she is vocal about her feelings, brash, pushy and above all irresistible. Looking at her as Sam says is like "staring at the Sun". But is she what she portrays herself to be ?

The game that they play with each other - the lies, words of deception - still has a deep undercurrent of emotions which only they could understand- because their journey is similar. Yes, some of us, like Jean and Sydney doesn't like the steadiness of life - the safety that it offers - even get suffocated by it. Its sometimes the chaos which makes life exciting.

Been a admirer of Naomi Watts since first time i saw Mulholland Drive, but Sophie Cookson is equally alluring in this muddled tale of human mind and emotions.
